Patec USB3.0 to VGA Adapter Converter
Need an extra monitor without shelling extra money to buy a new video card? This device is for you. Simple no brainier to connect and in few minutes you’re up and running.
The packaging is just basic came in a zip lock type of a plastic bag and few info of the item snickered at the back of it. Taking a closer look will reveal the two primary connection the USB 3.0 and standard VGA connector. There is another protective plastic covering the VGA part of the unit. Other than that that all there is to it.
Build Quality 9/10
Good amount of cable to be able to attached at the back of you PC. The USB 3.0 connector is made to last the pins looks solid hence also for the VGA connector.
The first test was using the regular USB 2.0 standard. Although the resolution is not so great (800×600) still good enough for simple presentation e.g power point as such. The USB 3.0 was used the full 1080p resolution was attainable. I advise to use the USB 3.0 to harness the full resolution this device can offer. I was wondering if there will be some lag when using this device (not for gaming purposes) Im happy to report there is no issue on the operation and it was smooth and flawless. Just make sure the drivers are loaded first before running the device and setting up the monitor configuration you wish.
Overall the item works as advertise, simple yet very convenient to have specially on multitasking. Having two or more monitor doesn’t hurt. With this device not breaking the bank surely it will be a hit to anyone looking to expand to multiple monitor setup. Highly recommended product.
